My iPhone is over a year old now and has the expected scuffing on the black plastic case. Has anyone done anything to remove these scratches?

I'm wondering if some of the CD-polishing techniques such as Basso (or possibly toothpaste) might work.

I'm not sure about cleaning, but have you considered purchasing perhaps a broken iPhone off ebay and replacing your back cover with it? Obviously you'll need to ensure the donor case is of a good quality.

I'm not sure how much a broken iPhone goes for, but I would imagine not terribly much.

This is a good (maybe risky) idea, I'll add you could also try getting only a back cover replacement. From DealExtreme: dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16946 – iPhone Answers Oct 27 at 9:57
