I have an iPhone (3G) that was submerged in water. I also have an original iPhone that isn't being used. Can I put the sim card from my newer iPhone into the older one temporarily while I wait for the 3G to dry out?

Yes, if any of the following:

  • both iPhones are from the same carrier (i.e. AT&T)
  • your iPhone 2G is unlocked
