Yesterday I just purchased the Incase "metallic" slider case. It's not really metal, but metallic-looking rubber/plastic. Though I've only had it for a little while I've been pretty impressed with the quality and design. Study, but not flashy.

What case do you use for your iPhone/iPod?

My first-generation iPhone is in a black Agent 18 EcoShield case, and the screen is protected by a Power Support anti-glare film.

I haven't used a case, b/c I can't find one thin enough. I might take a look at the invisibleShield from Admin's answer.

You've my vote on that, the invisibleSHIELD completely lives to it's promises and the only negative reviews I saw were from people who couldn't apply it correctly. In case anyone's wondering, I'm not affiliated to ZAGG in any way, I'm just a happy customer. – iPhone Answers Oct 3 at 5:13

I've got a silicone case, except I find when I place the iPhone in my pocket, it is difficult to remove because the case is very grabby. It doesn't like to slide against material - it seems to generate a lot of friction.

I have ordered a leather case that my entire iPhone will slide into.

I'm using the invisibleSHIELD by ZAGG in my iPhone 3GS, which is really a high quality product, totally scratch-proof and almost invisible.

Also, I'm using this cheap silicon case from DealExtreme, which fits nicely and protects it from drops.

Wow, first question ever on Slidetoask.com, congratulations! :)

I did it mainly to see if I could - I remember some issues in the early days of Meta.SE where nobody could post anything because there were no tags, and new users weren't allowed to create tags. I'm glad to see that the issue has been resolved. – Kyle Cronin Oct 2 at 22:10
Thank you, I had the doubt too but I didn't want to kick-start the thing myself. The question is still useful :) – iPhone Answers Oct 2 at 22:30

I got an Invisible Shield, and here is my quick review

  • Takes a long time to get it positioned right on the back. So much I omitted the top and bottom strips.
  • It is really tough and does protect your iPhone
  • From being in my pocket a lot (and perhaps by having an iPhone with a white backing), the sides of the clear shield picked up a lot of gunk and made a brown line around the edges.
  • The back piece ended up peeling off. So I ripped it off.
  • After a month or so, the front once peeled off and got stuck to itself, so I ripped it off too.

Keep in mind my iPhone goes everywhere with me, but I do treat it with respect.

Gray Argyle with Pocket from Gadget Armour on Etsy.

I had a hard case previously but ironically it was scratching the back of my iPhone. What the?!

Incipio feather case for drop protection with Zagg for screen. They work very welll together and are thin and discreet.

Read the amazon reviews and be very careful when putting on Zagg skin. I got it right but make sure you follow instructions to the letter. Also note Incipio logo on back might annoy some but you can cover it.

P.s. - sorry but had to remove extra links and image as I'm a new user
